I’ve officially been flaked on, and it sucks! I sent an awesome package all the way to Leeds for the Rockabilly Swap on craftster.org, and I got zip from my partner. Anyway, (arrgh!) I also included a little extra surprise that I wished I had kept. My partner is trying to have a baby and wants to make a fertility shrine, so I made her a womb from knitty.com. It really gave me a hard time since I used ribbon yarn that wasn’t so forgiving. My fingers were cramped for days! He turned out pretty cute though. I called it my “Happy Uterus.”
here are some pics of the other stuff I sent: group shot embroidered hankies headbands and cherry choker
Spring is in the air, and my head is swimming with creativity. These peices are a different style of jewelry you’re used to seeing from me. Most people would call it “normal”, or “society friendly.” Whatever. They’re awesome. I like these little lovelies, and I hate to sell them, but a girl needs purse money. Ya know?
Ross had these clutch purses for only $4, so naturally I snagged ’em. Here’s what I did with them:
Clutches are way to small for me, (did I mention I also spent $150 on 4 Harajuku Lovers purses while I was there?) so if anyone wants these, let me know. I’ll swap or take $$ (unless you’re family. all i need is your address). First come first serve.
Happy Birthday Hunny! My daughter drew a monster for her daddy’s birthday while he was on a business trip. Since I’m a SAHM I don’t think buying him a present really counts as a gift from me, so I made him one. I thought it was great that Melody came up with the idea for buck teeth all on her own. I didn’t get braces until after she was born and Joe says how much he misses my “food grabbers” sometimes. I added the hearts in the eyes and gave him a best friend that I had been working on.
Meet Huggy Monster.
Here he is with his best friend, Fluffy. Fluffy got ran over by a car. After a mad scientist put him back together, Fluffy ate off all his limbs.
Huggy likes to vacuum.
Huggy and Fluffy’s favorite game is “vacuum the dust bunny.”
I love aprons! I have about 10 of them from swaps. I called the first one I ever received my “magic apron,” because it mysteriously made me want to cook and clean. I had some leftover fabric, so i decided to give it a shot. Of course I didn’t use a pattern, I just kind of guessed.
here’s a full apron for my daughter (a crafter in training):
