I tried to crochet a Rilakkuma (Lazy Bear), a super adorable San-X character. The only real pattern for him was in this adorable, but pricey Japanese craft book, so I had to improvise. It’s not exactly the same, but I came pretty close. My son fell in love with him, so I’m happy with it.

The Infected
After watching 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, I couldn’t stop dreaming about zombies. I know technically The Infected are not zombies, but close enough. I decided to crochet a cute little zombie to rid me of my fear. I also made him a zombie girl plushie companion. Both of these were given away in a swap.

Killer Kween
My partner has received her package for the “Craft My Favorite Decade” swap, so I can post some of the stuff I made now. She liked the 18th century, so my crafts were inspired by Marie Antoinette. I did some research and watched both he PBS documentary and Sofia Coppola (very dissapointing) movie. I loved the tote bag so much, I made 2!
I’m starting with my favorite item. This tote bag is so awesome! I’m not a great sewer, but I gave myself a pat on the back for design. To think, I just had these scraps of fabric and lace laying around my craft room.
This ruffle collar/neckwarmer was knitted in acrylic, then embellished with gray lace and gi’normous buttons.
Trinkets included chandelier earrings (real and fake), crocheted cuff, a ring, cell phone charm, silhouette necklace and “Let them eat cake” mirror.
My partner also liked the 50s, so I tossed in some retro nautical-ish things.

I sent a few more things, but nothing worth blogging about. Thanks for looking!
for hookers only
Here is what I sent to my partner for the Hooker swap on craftster.org. I’m only posting the stuff I made. I also sent some yarn, a vintage pattern and a bag of cruchy cheetos (b/c they are available in the UK).
*For those of you who don’t know, a hooker is someone who crochets. Get you minds out of the gutter people!
I decorated some crochet hooks. The first 3 were washi paper (japanese handmade paper) decoupaged, and the last 2 were sculpey wrapped with some embellishments added.
A beaded necklace with scissors attatched.
A couple sets of stitch markers
And my very first crochet hook roll! I was sad to give it away b/c I’m such a sentiMental pack rat, but my partner loved it so it’s ok.
