Pick of the Week – Fairy Drops Mascara!

 Fairy Drops Mascara Review

It’s magical and whimsical and marketed right. I have to admit, if Sephora didn’t have this mascara in every email blast for a month, I would have never heard of it. As I read more about it, I wanted to give it a try. The ingredients were interesting and the applicator was original. After one layer of Fairy Drops Scandal Queen Mascara ($24) I fell in love. I love the dolly/doe-eyed effect it gave my eyes. And to think, it all started with a search for a reliable mascara supplier.

How does it work? The fibers lengthen while collagen adds a supple plump your to your lashes. Their “curl-keep” polymer keeps lashes curled all day without the need for a lash curler and jojoba oil and squalane keep your lashes strong and moisturized. The unusual applicator looks like 3 spheres on a curved brush. This helps to lift and curl the inner, center, and outer corner lashes for a maximum eye opening effect.
Fairy Drops is a Japanese cosmetics company that has an entire line of makeup available to Asia only. Hopefully, the success of their Drama Queen mascara will bring more of their products to the States.

Tokidoki Soda Shop Collection Review & Tutorial

I got more Tokidoki makeup! I purchased the Soda Shop palette along with a Kabuki Brush and Pittura angled blush brush. As you will find from my review, I liked everything except for the eyeliner. I hope you enjoy my review and natural bronze tutorial using the Tokidoki Soda Shop palette!

NCSU 2011 Art to Wear Fashion Show

I am so excited to share the experience of working my first fashion show with you all. I had the amazing opportunity to be the key makeup artist for Designers Afaf Seyam and Suzy Atkinson for the 10th Anniversary North Carolina State University 2011 Art to Wear Fashion Show. I worked on 7 models in 4 hours. Half of their face was supposed to have a silver metallic theme and the other side was natural. The theme of their collection was modern architecture, so they had pieces inspired by the Chysler Building, Beiging Bubble Building, the Bird Nest in Beiging, the Guggenheim in Spain, the Cathedral Brazile, and the Seattle Space Needle. Suzy and Afaf are so talented and I was honored to be their makeup artist.
Here are some pictures as well as the video I put together:

MAC Cosmetics Quite Cute Collection

My favorite collection from MAC Cosmetics since the Hello Kitty line launched in America on April 7, 2011. The Quite Cute collection is the epitome of Kawaii culture in the Western world. With demure pastels and cutie girl fluff, this line will make you squeal when you see the visuals in the store. Big doe eyes, lace and ruffles, and colorful accessories complete this super kawaii look. Enjoy my MAC Cosmetics Quite Cute Collection Tutorial!

NARS Orgasm Tutorial

I recently purchased Nars’ Orgasm line of makeup at Sephora. They had a box set with lip gloss, blush, highlighter stick and nail polish. I was reluctant to buy it for a really long time because I didn’t want to give in to the hype of the name. I finally gave in when this value set came out. I’m am a coral fiend, so this line was pretty much made for me. I love how perfect the blend of pink and orange pigments look on my neutral yellow skin. Please watch my NARS Orgasm Tutorial video to see how you can wear these products.
